Help me give my students books that will help them learn and create the joy of reading!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Uhles's classroom raised $458

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students mainly come from a housing project located next to our school campus, and they are at a social economic disadvantage. Most of them speak Spanish at home, but become proficient in English with practice. They love to read, but cannot afford books. Their lack of transportation also hinders trips to the public library. Their eagerness and love of learning can be seen in their faces, but it is only hindered by the lack of materials like books, E-Readers and technology.
My Project
I will love to have books available in the classroom for my students to be able to take home and read in the evenings. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, and I will love to share my passion for learning through books with my students also. Reading can take you places where you have never been, nor would you able to travel to. It opens your imagination to a new world of adventures and creativity which will help my students with their writing skills. Books allow you to learn about other civilizations , their culture, and their history which will expand their minds.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
