My students need books on CD to add to their Listen to Reading station during the Daily 5.

My Students

Our classroom received a grant for some I-pod touches in the classroom. We received more than expected, which is wonderful, but now we need more books on CD, to add to the MP3 players to have enough to go around.

I teach first grade.

First graders no matter where you teach are always wonderful, excited, eager learners. We attend a school with a high free and reduced lunch. Most of my learners are either low or high. I have very few who lie in the average range. I like to raise funds to give the students who do not have much at home the experience at school! It is so excited to provide a fun way for the students to learn.

My Project

I am requesting books on C.D. to add to my classroom library. The books on C.D. will be added to the MP3 players that we just received to make our listen to reading station more excited and easy to handle. The books will provide a fun and excited way for the students to learn to read.

This project is so important to me because listening to reading is such an important component in learning how to read.

This component gives students, who do not have people who read to them at home, a chance to receive that modeling of fluency.
