My Students
My students are amazing! Our school is located in a rural part of central California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. We love our community and the natural resources we have in our area.
Many of my students come from middle- to low-income families.
My students come to school every day excited to learn something new and ready to take on a new challenge. While our students have many obstacles in their lives, they persevere and succeed.
My Project
Last year, our school had a fire in the building that houses our library. Because of this, our students do not have enough access to books through my classroom library. I am hoping to bring more books into my classroom through this project.
These books, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Teacher From the Black Lagoon, and Night of the Living Dummy will be placed in my classroom library for all of my students to read.
Kids love new books. I have chosen a wide range of book levels so all of my students will have a choice in finding a new book to read.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
