My students need books, books, and more books! We need a variety of independent reading books of all levels to expand their reading abilities and interests.

My Students

I teach two classes of eager fourth graders! We are a mix of all different learners with a range of abilities and interests. We are energetic and always ready to learn more!

Fourth grade is the perfect time to discover a love of reading!

They enjoy diving into new books and sharing the exciting things they have read. This year, with our new implementation of the Lucy Calkins Reading Program, we are constantly on the look out for high interest books. Fourth graders read and learn best when they not only have a book at their level, but something they want to read as well!

My Project

Our classes need a variety of different independent reading books to expand our love of reading.

We read every day!

Each student has a personalized book basket to store high interest books to read. With 50 students sharing a library, we need all the books we can get! There are a variety of different levels and interests in class and the larger the variety of book there are the better. We want students to always have right-fit, high-interest books on hand to pick up and read. We are continuously reading, writing, and discussing. With more books, we can have even more excitement!
