Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing young people who deserve equity within their classroom resources. For years, we have read The Outsiders and The Giver and had to use online PDF versions of them since we cannot afford a class set. Perennial Girl is the second book in the Ugly Me series. All incoming 7th graders had to read it for the summer reading project.
These items will make a difference in my students' learning because they will know that there are people out there that value their education and value reading.
My goal is to have physical books in the hands of my students. It would make then understand the importance of the written word and how it connects to our everyday lives.
