I teach second graders. These second graders are so excited to participate in school when hands-on approaches and technology are involved. They are smart and creative. They are excited to participate in writer's workshops and publish all types of stories and create all types of art. They are excited to learn math skills, spelling, grammar, reading, vocabulary, and physical skills.
Second graders are the perfect age to foster a love of learning that should continue throughout their lives.
They live in view of the beautiful mountains and are active every minute of the day. Their favorite time is when we get together in our classroom to read aloud. They laugh, joke, and support each other.
My Project
This project will bring amazing books and supplies into our classroom. Books are an amazing way to show students what's happening in our world. Books can help students understand how their character develops. Having books with familiar faces is good, but we also want to include diverse faces and characters to help us learn about everyone and make sure that we are just in our actions.
Understanding what is happening and how we affect the people around us is important to building a great world and great citizens.
I am excited to share all of these books to help my students' awareness grow. I am also glad to be able to incorporate object lessons to help my students see how choices and decisions affect our lives. Using pop its to keep track of choices during a lesson/game sounds like so much fun. The materials in this project will help me with those lessons. The headphones will allow students to access a variety of books online. Thank you so much for considering helping our class.
