My Students

I teach an amazing group of 4th graders who are loving, courageous, and full of energy! Many of my students come to School having faced hard circumstances. I strive to make each day the very best I can while they are in my classroom.

My Project

I teach 4th grade and need age-appropriate, culturally diverse books that are of high interest to my students. My school does not have a library, so I want to put as many books as possible in my classroom. So my scholars have access to as much literature as possible. I want to foster a love for reading by having books that children will want to read. Classroom libraries are one of the specific areas where it's difficult to find funding, as they are entirely created by teachers. It's important for students to have access to these libraries because not only does it show an assortment of what I read, which is essential to modeling, but it gives them the atmosphere that reading is important. Having these books in my classroom will make teaching guided reading and good reading habits easier.
