Help me give my students a library filled with books they are interested in!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dudczyk's classroom raised $196

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hardworking, clever, and fun to be around. They have a variety of different learning styles. The students benefit from various levels of reading materials and hands-on activities. Their determination and resilience make my job so rewarding.
I'm fortunate to share my students' successes and help them overcome their challenges.
Ninety-five percent of our school is considered low-income and receives free or reduced-price lunch. The student body consists of sixty-five percent Latino, thirty percent African-American, and five percent Caucasian students.
My Project
I am requesting Anime and History books because my students have asked for them to be added to our classroom library. There are a number of students that are interested in Anime and have been begging for some texts that include the topic. There are also a few students that have mentioned that our classroom library is lacking nonfiction/historical fiction texts. They have suggested ordering the What Was Series. This series provides information about topics such as the: Gold Rush, Great Chicago Fire, and Underground Railroad.
The books will help students work on their independent reading skills.
They can also practice their fluency and comprehension while learning about historical events or reading about Naruto, one of their favorite Anime characters.
