Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to walk into our classroom every day eager and excited to learn! I teach at a Title I school in Dallas, Texas where many of the students are from low-income families. Despite the many hardships my students will face throughout the year, I want them to be confident that when they walk into my room, they are in a safe learning environment! Our goal is to provide an education in an environment specifically designed to meet the individual academic, physical, and emotional needs of its students.
My Project
Having a love of reading starting at an early age is essential! I am requesting engaging educational books for my classroom library so my students can foster and grow their love for reading. Reading in our class library will be a daily activity that I want the students to enjoy. Unfortunately many of my students have very little access to books outside of the classroom. Adding these books in many different reading levels and subjects will ensure there will be multiple books that interest each student! Through these books my students will gain a love for reading that will keep them on the path to success!
