This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have been busy bees working to strengthen their phonics skills. They love the books we read together during our reading intervention lessons and are now searching for books to choose from on their own.
These books will help me create a classroom library where students are able to choose their own stories for independent reading. I would like to have time during our daily lesson for my students to read from their self-selected books. It is so important for my students to start making decisions about choosing books on their own. This will help them establish a love for stories, and become lifelong readers.
