My Students

My students are loving and enthusiastic and come to school every day excited about learning. Although we are a Title I school, our mission is to empower our scholars to reach their maximum potential and to become successful and competitive within the global community. My students have a wide variety of needs, such as communication, social-emotional, fine and gross motor, and behavioral. I also serve children with autism. Most of my students come from a low-socioeconomic background. Coming to school on a regular basis is an escape where the children can learn and grow while, strengthening their social and emotional skills, and follow a daily schedule and routine. I regularly contributed financially to our community of learners. However, we still come up short. My goal is to teach them 21st-century skills through language arts literacy so that they can be college and career-ready. The students have so much to offer. It's displayed through their energy and personality so much so that every day is a real adventure.

My Project

By donating to this project, you will allow me to continue to inspire students to actualize the joy that comes from being a confident reader. Not only will we use the bins to house our leveled reading books but, I have created a weekly reading club. In our “Lunch Bunch,” book club, the students and I eat lunch together and discuss the books they are reading. The book bins will allow us to have the books accessible to read daily. Additionally, the colorful containers will beautify our library and assist in creating a welcoming place to sit and read.

When you donate to this project, you become a partner in what reading a book every day accomplishes, increased fluency, reading stamina as well as increased comprehension.

In a word, you help in cultivating scholars and creating an atmosphere for lifelong readers. Please assist me in developing a classroom of readers who read for pleasure.
