My Project

I teach a vibrant group of 4th graders at BB H. Elementary, a Title I school in Georgia. My students come from richly diverse backgrounds and bring so much creativity, resilience, and joy into our classroom every day. Many of our families face economic challenges, and for some, school is the most consistent and supportive place in their daily lives.

In our classroom, we are building a community grounded in empathy, equity, and excellence.

My students are learning to embrace who they are and who they’re becoming—especially those who are neurodivergent, multilingual, or navigating the impacts of housing instability, food insecurity, or trauma.

The resources I’m requesting will directly support our learning environment. Items like flexible seating will give students the choice and comfort they need to stay focused and regulated. Sensory tools and calming materials will help students with emotional regulation, especially those with ADHD, anxiety, or autism. Books that reflect our students’ cultures and experiences will allow every child to see themselves in the stories we read. And basic supplies will ensure every student can fully participate in hands-on learning without financial barriers.

These donations aren’t just about paper and pencils—they’re about restoring dignity, fueling curiosity, and creating a space where students feel safe, seen, and ready to learn.
