Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach third grade in a high-poverty school in Georgia. One hundred percent of students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are diverse in academic ability, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and life experience. They are excited about school and love learning new things. My third graders particularly love Science and being able to conduct experiments and learn about the world.

I want to provide my students with the best education possible.

We need partners like you to help us get these resources into our classroom.

My Project

A plethora of new and amazing books are published each year. We are often not able to have these books in our classroom due to the cost. Typically our classroom books are purchased by the teacher at garage sales or resale shops.

The opportunity to have new and current books in our classroom is a one that is guaranteed to engage and entice young readers.

These books include a wide variety of award winning books have been selected with specific lessons and focuses in mind. Many of the books will help instill a sense of wonder in students, while others encourage them to take risks and even make mistakes. I've also tried to ensure the books are diverse and include characters from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and genders.
