This is a quote my students learn the first week of school each year.

It's our mantra and a reminder that we can do anything if we truly put our minds to it. Most importantly, it inspires us to shy away from excuses and focus on solutions.

I work in an inner city school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Despite those challenges, my students are excited to work on the many engaging projects I design throughout the school year. This year will not be any different.

My Project

New books make everyday like Christmas when my students find the one that fits them perfectly. All of the titles I’ve chosen will be snatched as soon as I put them out. They are engaging, funny, and interesting. My students won’t even realize they are practicing reading to get better. Sneaky, huh?

Reading skills are foundational.

Students need access to high quality writing so they can become proficient readers and writers. With your donation, you will partner with my classroom to help my students continue their educational journey. Supporters like you will be the reason why parents will tell me this school year, “My child never liked to read until he came into your class. Now he won’t stop!’ Your contribution will have a lasting affect.
