My Students

Each year I am blessed with students who are enthusiastic learners and are very excited about learning, reading, and writing. They are very inquisitive and love to ask lots of question. The quote below summarizes my class. "You were made to be awesome," by Kid President. The children in my classes are beyond amazing and will make a special impact on the world. Their enthusiasm for reading and writing is incredible, and it is amazing to watch their eyes light up when they are reading a book.

My Project

Since I teach third grade, I don’t have a lot of books in my library for students that are reading on a DRA level 2. I really want to provide the students in my classroom and the other students in the other third grade classrooms with books that they can read independently on their instructional level. Providing books on their instructional level will help the students with their confidence which will in turn help them become more fluent readers. I feel like teaching a child to read and to love to read is the very best gift that I can give a child.
