This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very special, kindergarteners in a high needs area of a borough in New York. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come to school every day eager to learn.
Unfortunately, my classroom does not always have the supplies we need.
Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment. Thank you!
My Project
Students love reading the Pinkalicious and Pete the Cat. These books will motivate them and get them involved in reading. When students have books they enjoy they read more and with better fluency.
While reading these books students will build fluency skills.
Students enjoy these books and will read them several times building fluency with each reading.
Students will be able to use the fluency and comprehension skills they develop reading the Pinkalicious and Pete the Cat when reading other books.
I am also asking for reading rewards such as magnates. My students deserve to be rewarded for working hard, and I would like to provide them with these opportunities.
