This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please help me provide my students with high-interest books for our classroom library and much needed supplies. My students love to read, but I have a limited selection of books for them to choose from. In addition, most of the books are older and beginning to fall apart. I would love to surprise my students with an array of newer books for them to read! My hope is that my students reading levels will continue to grow as they are exposed to a diversified classroom library.

Furthermore, we have to borrow supplies from other classrooms because I am limited in what I can provide.

For example, I don't have a pencil sharpener for my students to use, nor do I have velcro strips so that my word wall can become interactive. I want to provide this items, along with others on my list, so the learning enviornment becomes more productive.

My students range from kindergarten through fifth grade, and it is challenging for me to provide enough books/supplies for the varied age range. With your help, my students will become exposed to several award-winning series that foster their love of reading!
