This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If you were to ask my students if they love to read, many would not have a favorable response. Many of my students are way below grade level in reading because they have learned to hate reading. I want to give my students choices in books to read when we have extra time.

Providing students with books to read in my classroom will help to foster a love of reading and learning.

Reading is not just a requirement for school, it is also a lifelong pursuit that can bring joy and enrichment. By exposing students to a wide range of books and encouraging them to read, I hope to inspire them to become lifelong learners and readers. I believe having a classroom library is an excellent way to promote equity in education, as all students will have access to the same resources regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds. I hope to keep expanding this project throughout the years to include books that my students can see themselves in.
