This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how first graders dive so deeply into reading. Their eyes light up, and they want more! Reading to my class is my favorite time because it ignites imagination and critical thinking. Having a reading buddy character with that specific book will help students be more engaged and want to listen to the story. I am a second-year first grade teacher, so having engaging books at their level is limited, and I would love to add to the classroom library. Students will be able to read the books and not have to watch a read-aloud.
