My Students

Our school is on the outside of a large city, and we get an influx of students for numerous reasons. We are a high-poverty, rural school in Oklahoma. These young minds work hard and need to be challenged and equipped with the best I can provide for them.

Reading is an asset to all students. It helps improve their overall education. In some cases, reading sets a student/child free for a new future.

My Project

To help my students learn amid the pandemic, my students could use these class sets of books and art supplies to engage and move my students forward. We are working on our reading skills, vocabulary, and creativity in our life skills class. These kids love Alan Gratz novels and are excited to add the Rot and Ruin to our collection.

My students are resilient and work hard during this challenging time we find ourselves.

We love getting books in our hands and improving our vocabulary and comprehension. My students love doing collaborative art projects. We do monthly art projects and could use these scissors, crayons, sharpeners, and glue to have resources to do our art projects.
