Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to add books about activism to our school library's collection.

These books will allow my students to read books about how activism has played a role in the world we live in today.

I want them to feel inspired by the stories in these books, so they will realize that even they can be changemakers.

Our school library had been neglected for many years. Most of the books in the library were 20-plus years old. My goal for this year is to have a collection of 8,000 books for our 700 students. I also want to drop the average age of the books to 10 years. Having a full and updated library collection will inspire more students to check out and read books.
