My students need more chapter, coding and graphic novel books to add to our library collection. These books will be put to good use by students who will enjoy reading them, immensely.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Everyday I walk into my school grateful for the diversity and positive attitudes of my students and families. Our school is located in Chicago. It is a Chicago Public School that is surrounded by a wonderful community of families, teachers and community partners. It is rich with love for its students and while we may not have the means to provide all our students with everything we desire for them, the students have such a joy for learning and a hunger to continue to better themselves.
It is precisely that joy of learning and hunger for new knowledge that makes coming into my school a privilege.
This is a school that has had to deal with many cuts in the last few years and still our students persevere. These are hard working students who care about school but who also know its important to have fun in school.
My Project
Can you remember how awesome it was when you had the chance to read a good book at school? I want my students to have that same chance. My students are avid readers and these books will add to our library and their experiences.
There are few things better than opening up a good book and discovering the joy of reading an excellent story.
These books are both audio and visual. Additionally, the books will help us in our endeavor to further our learning about technology as well.
I am so excited that the students will have the chance to have new books added to our library collection. It may seem like a small thing, adding books to our library, but it's a big deal... to us.
