Help me give my students a fascinating novel (in Spanish!) featuring traditions surrounding the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday.

My Project
Our students crave a more interesting and culturally relevant learning experience than what our twenty-five year old textbook can provide! As we move towards a literacy-focused curriculum, we need help purchasing a class set of novels for younger students in the Spanish program. The chosen novel is a fascinating and accessible story about a family celebrating the Day of the Dead in Mexico.
Our first-year students are amazed when they can read a full novel after only two to three months of learning Spanish!
Students will be able to connect to this cultural holiday, learn new words and grammar, and enjoy this captivating story. I cannot wait to hear "Wow! I never thought I would be able to read a book in Spanish!"
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
