This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are enthusiastic dual-language learners in an economically disadvantaged area.
My students create wonderful pieces of creative writing and I found that sharing their writing with an audience matters to them.
They have read their stories to elementary students as well as parents in the community.
The feedback they have received has served as a motivation to continue improving. They thrive when given the opportunity to be creative.
Each piece of writing is accompanied by an art piece (drawing, collages,...), but all those materials come easily apart. I have stapled them, but it makes the books hard to read. I would love to have the tools to provide each student with their own published book to be able to proudly share with their audience and keep for themselves.
