My Project

We have a group of diverse, upper-level students who are exuberant readers who love to delve into a great book and soar to the moon with their creative imaginations. They're actively engaged in the reading process and love to share their ideas and thoughts with others. They share their books with their classmates, and they love reading popular books, and a variety of genres.

As educators, we understand how books of fiction have a power that no other form of communication does: the power to insert you fully and completely into someone else’s brilliant mind.

It is a meld between the mind of the reader and the writer, and the minds of the reader and character. I want my students to read like writers. We will use our study of the text to explore the writer’s craft. We'll start from the foundation that every sentence in a novel has a purpose and was deliberately included.
