it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
After a pandemic year and a half where students had limited access to books at school, my students are ready to dive into reading high-interest books. After kicking off the school year with building excitement for reading, I realized that my students love so many different kinds of books. We even did an author study and read books by Patricia Polacco! I want to update my classroom library to provide students with more reading choices! My hope is to continue to encourage a love of reading for my students. An essential part of that experience is providing them with many options at their own reading level.
My students work hard and would love the opportunity to explore different genres of books.
They will love having the choice of various book titles from our classroom library.
My Project
This book project will make a huge difference in my students' learning because it will help add to our growing classroom library. Every book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and my students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. During the past few weeks of school, I have watched them eagerly browse the library for books. I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time as well as reading at home.
With so many students having a wide range of reading levels, I want to ensure that they have interesting books that they can read.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading. Overall, this project will only help enrich my students' reading experiences.
