My Project
At Waverly East Intermediate, we serve a diverse group of 5th and 6th grade students in Lansing, Michigan. Many of our students lack consistent access to books outside of school. We want to change that—one book at a time.
We’re seeking your support to bring an Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine to our school.
This creative tool will not only celebrate students’ positive behavior as part of our PBIS program, but also encourage a love of reading by letting students earn tokens and choose books to keep and cherish at home.
When students meet academic or behavior goals—like showing kindness, responsibility, or making reading gains—they'll earn a special gold token. That token unlocks the vending machine, where they’ll select a brand-new book just for them.
This program reinforces two things we value deeply: positive choices and literacy.
Your donation will help us:
-Purchase the Inchy's Book Vending Machine
-Stock it with diverse, high-interest books our students will love
-Promote reading and reward growth in a way that makes a lasting impact
Our students are bright, curious, and capable of great things—they just need the tools, motivation, and encouragement to get there. With your help, we can provide something truly special that will light up our school with excitement for reading and personal growth.
Thank you for helping us turn books into rewards, and readers into leaders.
