My Students
My elementary students work hard in class. Their parents value education greatly but are often unable to support learning outside of the school day. They put their best foot forward and are inspired to do better.
My students will be the leaders of tomorrow; future doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, engineers, and software designers.
As a teacher, it is my job to prepare these students for careers that are not in existence yet. By giving my students opportunities inside and outside the classroom to grow and succeed, I can see that I am shaping the future of our great nation.
My Project
We got a great book vending machine through our DonorsChoose grant last school year. This year we are using that machine as a behavior incentive for students to earn books to take home to keep. Each month every adult on campus has the opportunity to gift a gold coin to a student that has been working extra hard in their class. We are vending around 50 books a month for our kids who are working so hard to be amazing. As such, it is time to refill our vending machine, again. This project is mostly for the titles that we cannot seem to keep in stock in our machine, the most popular titles.
Every child deserves the chance to have their own books to keep in their home.
Our book vending machine incentive is how we are going to get books into the hands of our students to reward their hard work and good behavior. The books this time are what we are "selling out" of each time we have a gold coin book vending machine day. The first books to be selected are usually our graphic novels, so we are restocking extra of these since they are a fun read for kids of all ages.
