Help me give my students a variety of books to read from author Dan Gameinhart. With the purchase of these selected books, our class can start an author/book study. Talking and writing about literature is important!
My name is Christy Ishigaki. I am a 6th grade teacher at an elementary school in Waipahu. This year I have 31 students in my class. They are awesome! They try their best and they always seek ways to improve. They have been very respectful to their teachers and each other. These students are at different academic levels.
To promote the importance and love of reading, I would like to offer students to participate in book clubs and author studies. These students deserve it!
My Project
Book Talks will engage students in not only reading, but also talking about literature. Students will participate in author studies and book talks. I have selected books written by Dan Gameinhart because of the topics he writes about which get students interested in reading.
His books are filled with emotion, humor, and challenges that children may face in the real world today.
Currently, students are interested in social media, gaming, and watching videos on the internet. Hopefully, these book talks will help students with their communication and speaking skills as they have deeper conversations about what they read with each other.
