This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hungry for books, and hungry to read! This describes the community of students at our Title I elementary school in the historic city of Alexandria, VA. Our school is filled with dedicated educators, wonderful administrators, and some of the best students in the world.
We will use this book vending machine to provide students with free-choice reading material to feed their brains and encourage their love of reading.
Our students come from countries around the world and speak many languages. Having a book vending machine with culturally relevant texts will expand their reading horizons. We anticipate this being a meaningful part of our school for many years to come. Thank for helping us reach our goals!
