My students need a bookshelf to make accessing books easy as pie!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Michel's classroom raised $219

My Students
My students are wonderful kids. I currently teach Kindergarten at two schools each day. My goal as a k teacher is to instill a love of literacy and lifelong learning. I pride myself on getting my kids to love school early on in their academic careers.
I want my students to have plenty of easy access to books.
Quite a few of my students are refugees that do not have books at home. Some have never been to school or even held a book before in their life! My goal is to change this by the time they come to K. I want them to be constantly picking up and reading books!
My Project
This bookshelf would display the books we will be talking about for the week. By displaying the books, kids can scan the covers and try to find one that interests them. This display would be more efficient than any bookshelf because the kids can quickly and easily look at the covers of the books to find one that might be a right fit book for them.
This book display would allow parents, other teachers, and students to see what we are talking about this week.
This is important because it gives the parents something to ask their children specifically about, rather than asking, "What did you do at school today?" Also, it allows other teachers to quickly glimpse and see what we are working on. This is important because they can guide their lessons to align with ours in the classroom. This is especially helpful for the many English as a Second Language kinders we have. This book display would provide quick and easy access for any student or adult who wants to help or just read to a child.
