My Students

Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, creative, vivacious, funny and eager to learn. The goal for my classroom is to make it a place where the students want to come each day and feel comfortable in the space. Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. Or that feeling when you opened the cover over a new book and fell in love with the text. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books.

For third graders, books are so important and are truly valued.

Our classroom library is an essential resource for my students. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our classroom library to check out high-quality books.

My Project

The book sets that I have requested from AKJ Education will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Due to me moving up to third grade from second grade, I have deficiencies in higher level quality books. Our classroom library will be the place that my students really enjoy each day.

Every student book that will be placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they will be thankful for the opportunities to read.

All of these books have been chosen with my future students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will help my students grow stronger in reading. I know adding this collection to my classroom library will produce astonishing interest in independent reading, and will only help enrich their experiences with printed words.
