This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are the Patriots! Our elementary school has been around for many years. The population of the school is about 800 students and a good percentage of that population is considered low income. The school library is the only place made available to the students where they can borrow books to read. Most of these students have never been to a library outside of school and this is the only place where books are available to them. As the new librarian, I would like to replace older outdated books with new and interesting materials. This school is truly a family friendly community. I am very grateful to be in such a wonderful and loving environment.

My Project

I am creating this project with my students and school in mind. I am the librarian and I would like to add more book series for my students to read. These new series will be a great addition to the school library. My goal is to add a greater variety of books for the school. I am hoping to add more and more books in the future. I will try my very best to find the popular books my students ask for when they visit the school library. All students come to the library each day ready to choose an interesting book in standard condition. Each child who comes to the library is eager to find newer novels and picture books that are not ruined, old, or falling apart. Thank you for your support.
