This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to have a brand new system for returning our library books!

A book return drop would be a great addition to our school library to ensure that all students place their books in the same spot, so they get checked in!

A book return bin is an easy way for students to return their books to the library to be checked in. This book return bin is able to support a large quantity of books being returned throughout the school day. Students will be able to drop their books off in the morning or during their library class time. Also, when I am collaborating with classroom teachers outside of the library, students will still be able to place their books in a safe location for return.

If funded by the beginning of the school year, I will be able to incorporate this new book return procedure into our library orientation lessons. Students will know exactly where to return their books, and I will be able to grab everything out of the book drop to check in all at once.

A book return bin will also encourage all students in grades K-5 to return their books because they will be able to return it in the book drop themselves.
