My Project

Reading is a fundamental skill that serves as a building block for student success in all academic areas. To foster a love for reading and enhance literacy skills, specifically in the areas of phonics and word recognition, the creation of a dynamic and engaging reading nook within the classroom is proposed. I am requesting a mobile standing desk to facilitate flexible teaching approaches for small group instruction, allowing for ease of movement and adaptability. With the addition of an area rug and floor pillows, I can create a comfortable reading environment with relaxed seating that will allow students to delve into books, which will foster their engagement and concentration. The dry-erase boards are instrumental for learning and will enable students to practice their writing skills and display their understanding of the material in a collaborative way. A gaming chair will ensure ergonomic support for the teacher, maintaining comfort and proper posture during instructional periods. Lastly, the rolling file folder rack is essential for the orderly management of instructional resources and student work, optimizing our instructional time. The requested items are essential to create a reading nook that is conducive to learning and inviting for students. The reading nook will be a versatile space, utilized for both individual reading activities and small group instruction, aligning with the educational standards of RF.5.3 in English Language Arts (ELA) as set by the Nevada Department of Education (NVDOE).
