This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a neighborhood where students come from diverse backgrounds.
In our second grade dual language classroom there are students that have never experienced technology. This will be a first time exposure in learning with current technology. My students are very energetic and learn with visuals and manipulatives. These iPads will help motivate my students to read in an interactive approach.
My Project
In my dual language classroom I believe that having iPads will bring education to life. Students will have endless access to valuable information such as a dictionary and thesaurus to improve and practice their vocabulary. In our classroom we currently only have this information available in printed format. Interactive technology makes learning more engaging and memorable. Some activities students will be able to participate in include the iPad's audio, video recorder and interactive learning games such as, Kids A-Z, Starfall, Math games, etc. These programs can change the way that learning takes place in both Spanish and English.
The donations to this project will help improve the learning in my classroom for all of my diverse learners.
The iPad will help both my native speakers and ELL students read leveled reading books in both Spanish and English. We currently do not have a wide range of book selections in the classroom to target the needs for all students in either language. I believe this opportunity to connect with an iPad will be memorable and significant and each child's learning path.
