This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am one of the co-advisors for our campus book club, and we need a collection of books to choose from! The students have compiled a list of the books they are most interested in reading. They hope to read a book every month, two months at the longest. I want to help provide them with various choices to read through.
This is the first time, or at least the first time in a while, that the school has had a book club.
I am excited about the number of students that actively participated last year. It was a late-year start for the book club, and they completed book club and personal readings in the few months that we were able to meet.
I know the amount looks daunting and expensive. Still, to give them the variety and number of books we need, I'm asking for any donations, even if it's just $1, to help these amazing students opportunities. Last year, most of them had to read digitally, which was a struggle for some. That is why we hope to start the year with some hard copies.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this DonorsChoose campaign and sharing or donating.
