My Students

My students are more engaged this year than in the past. Studying at home was difficult for most of them. They missed the interaction from the teachers and other classmates.

My Project

Too hard books discourage reluctant readers from trying again. Highly engaging books with easier vocabulary are perfect for students who are struggling.

Graphic novels and easier fiction novels are needed to provide those students who need to catch up a welcome gift.

Since even proficient readers enjoy graphic novels, the struggling reader does not feel the need to hide their book choice. Graphic novels actually level the playing field between readers and non-readers.

When in-person learning started this year, I noticed a great excitement to return to the library to check out books. I'd like to supplement my library with new books.
