My Students
These materials are for a wonderful group of 3rd graders who are excited about learning! My favorite part of teaching is helping my students develop a love for learning! Our school is amazing, and it is a very warm and inviting place. We have a wonderful community of teachers, parents, and students working hard every day to help everyone succeed.
My school has a very diverse population of students and families.
We are located in what some call a bedroom community, because parents work farther from home. Some of our students are low income, English Language Learners, come from single-parent homes, or are living with other guardians. It can be challenging meeting the needs of the varying abilities and backgrounds of the students, but it is something I enjoy doing. I am looking to instill a love for learning in my students.
My Project
I am requesting more sturdy book bins to complete our library full of books. This is my second round requesting book bins. The great thing is that my library is so big that I didn't request enough new bins with the last project. Most of the bins are Dollar Tree bins that are just not holding up to the wear and tear from third graders. My students love accessing the books in the library and on any given day you find at least 10 to 15 kids looking at books. My student's families have helped load the shelves with books, so much that the current bins cannot hold the amount and are breaking. Having sturdy book bins will allow my students to keep digging through the books to find their just right book or that picture book that they've been excited to read.
