I am a teacher of resilient, fun-loving fourth graders at a Title I school where 100% of our scholars receive free breakfast and lunch. Though they may come from challenging environments, each day they arrive at school eager to learn and laugh!
It is our mission to ensure students are encouraged and motivated to succeed through both our positive behavior supports and rigorous learning practices.
When these supports and practices are in place, students will have the tools needed to succeed!
My Project
In my classroom, the library is a safe haven. My students love to sit in the dragon chair and get lost in a book. My hope is to better organize this space so students can find their favorite books/authors at a glance. These will also allow me to help kiddos locate books at their reading level.
Organized classroom libraries help students access books more easily and frequently, thereby helping build a love of reading.
With these book bins, we will be able to sort our library according to genre, series, or author. The label maker will allow us to label each bin which will make it easier for students to find the exact book(s) they're looking for.
