This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are part of a diverse community in San Jose. They are eager and excited to engage with academic material, build friendships, and develop the skills necessary to make a difference in their community and the world. They are constantly working hard to engage with new texts, learn about new topics, and delve into any book they can. We all bring unique differences to our classroom community, and it is important for us to have books to help us understand and celebrate cultural differences. We want our students to be able to choose from a variety of books from our newly organized classroom libraries across the school. Book bins will help us keep our classroom libraries organized and accessible. These book bins will make it so easy for students to find books to read that are on their independent reading levels. This type of arrangement encourages students to discover more book titles that are new and inviting to them. Having book displays that are more attractive and accessible to students of all ages will encourage students to get hooked on books and become lifelong readers!
