Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The part of our classroom that my students and I enjoy most is our classroom library. However, to make this area appealing and organized, we need color-coded book baskets. Please consider helping us organize our classroom library!

My students come from all different backgrounds.

Over 80 percent of the students at our school receive free or reduced-price lunches. Many students speak languages other than English at home. They love to read, and take pride in our classroom and would enjoy a visually appealing and organized library.

My Project

Currently, our library is organized with hand-me-down baskets that people graciously spared in the weeks after our classroom burned down last year. Many are cracked and all are showing wear and tear, but they were what the other teachers could spare at the time. We would really appreciate new baskets to help color-code the library. Our books are already sorted by colored stickers representing their reading levels - but it would be so helpful if the baskets were color-coded as well! It would also add to the visual appeal of the library and truly make it an area to be proud of!

My students and I would undoubtedly appreciate being able to have a bright, gleaming, organized classroom library.

I have put a lot of hard work and thought into my classroom, and having my library reflect my passion for creating a fun, comfortable, functional learning environment would mean so much to me and my students. Thank you for considering giving to my project.
