This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students desks are too small to fit all the required reading books they have for the curriculum. We are also working without a classroom pencil sharpener.

My students are mostly underprivileged children that have very little in the way of educational materials at home.

They are third graders learning the power and respect of books, so we want to keep our things organized and safe from harm. The desks were poorly designed and are too narrow to fit all the books required. This is why I asked for the book/magazine holders for the desks. Also we do not have a pencil sharpener in the room that can handle 24 students using it several times a day.

My Project

My students will be organized and keep some of their most used books, such as language arts and math out so they have easy access to them. Since their desks are too narrow to fit all they books safely and properly, this is the next best thing. Also, the students will have access to sharpening their pencils at designated times.

Organization and respect for their books are both great lessons for students to learn.

It is part of the life lessons, things they can use throughout their educational careers and in the working world. Respecting and taking care of material, being prepared and organized for their day.
