In my classroom, I employ many different methods of helping children learn based on their learning styles and research on best practices. I believe students learn best when academic areas are integrated in a hands-on, meaningful way!
We are a charter school with many diverse learners.
My students are active kids that require a variety of teaching methods to motivate them to learn at their full potential. They learn best when the activities presented are highly-engaging and allow them to work on meaningful tasks.
My Project
Research shows that an integrated approach allows students to make meaningful connections as they absorb new material. It supports the belief that an individual's direct experience is crucial to purposeful learning. I believe that the materials I have requested in this proposal will help us accomplish these goals. The Boogie Boards will allow my students to write their responses to reading in an innovative and engaging way. They can send their work to me for individual writing conferences and for documentation of their learning. The Reusable Dry-Erase Pockets will make practicing skills more interactive and allow for greater differentiation within my classes. Together, these materials will allow my students to blend reading and writing with other subjects in ways that increase their motivation and achievement in all areas.
With the help of generous donations, my students will have access to tools and materials that will help them learn in a hands-on, relevant way!
I believe the items I have requested will make a huge difference on my students' motivation and performance!
