Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to learn and they want to make sure that they have learned by showing me their work. They now know that they are responsible for their learning. They are so responsible and proactive. The Boogie Boards will show me who knows and who needs a little help.

My students want to go to college.

Some would like to become scientists. They love to know what they are learning during Math and Science. My students come from low income families. More than eighty percent receive free or reduced lunch. At my school we want to expose children to college and the careers that are offered. I would like to influence my learners to follow careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. My students are eager learners.

My Project

Just envision children showing the teacher how they solved 5x2=4+1. Just as the teacher teaches the lesson then she asks students to work in pairs to solve their own similar problem. They then show their Boogie Boards with their math problem solving thinking. You see all their math strategies. Now that's a quick check of who understood and who needs individual reteaching. Then kids needing extra help get that help right away. My students would write with those Boogie Boards instead of Expos that need replacing very often. They would be using the Boogie Boards on a daily basis during math and science.

My students will no longer be wasting time looking for an Expo that has been used up or one that the tip has been pushed in and not usable.

It will change the lives of my students ever minute of instruction will be used to teach and students learning. The students that need help will immediately be receiving the help they need in order to be successful.
