I am tired of running papers! I am out of paper to run copies. I'm looking to have a more engaging way to promote writing for my students to display their thoughts in reading, math, writing, and spelling quickly and efficiently. These LCD desktop Boogie Boards will do it!
I have a class of 25 students.
They are eager to learn, but many of them missed the fundamentals in Kindergarten and are struggling to write in First grade. These students are in one of the lowest economic areas in Georgia. They are coming to me with a wide range of abilities and differentiated instruction is a must!
My Project
Having a class set of Boogie Boards will clearly help motivate my students and will definitely shorten the amount of time I stand and wait for a copy machine, or look for tissues! Not to mention the number of pencil sharpeners and pencils I go through each year will no longer be a worry!
Having the Boogie Boards will make the writing students need to show me either in whole group or small groups, more fun, more efficient, and less time consuming than doing things with paper and pencil or even on the white board. As a teacher, I need to see everything the students do, but I do not need to grade and return each and every paper.
Individual tablets will allow me to assess quickly, without having papers I do not always save. It will also allow students to reflect, record, and compute in all subject areas!
I want children to want to come to school.
I continue to engage my students with fun and meaningful lessons that help them become better students and more confident in their educational success. Teaching has become a data driven and assessment-based system. Anything I can do that will make young children's lives less stressful and more enjoyable, makes their learning more fun and continually keeps them motivated!
