My students need boogie boards. These donations would provide small group technological writing opportunities that will help my students establish better literacy skills through an organized and less messy setting.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten at a Title I school. Our district helps our low socioeconomic community by providing free breakfast and lunch to students. Most students at my school have not had the privilege to attend pre-K. They also may not have the learning experiences they need prior to kindergarten.
I have 19 blended eager to learn kindergarten students.
Several of my students are Non-English speakers when entering my classroom. Our school caters to over 500 diverse students. We are an all Kindergarten School with 27 classroom teachers. We strive to provide a safe and effective learning environment for all of our students.
My Project
Effective small group literacy is imperative in a Kindergarten classroom. I strive to establish consistency and organization in order to provide life skills as well as an effective learning experience in my small group setting. I need boogie boards in my classroom to help with small group literacy instruction. I would like to be able to incorporate more technology within my small group setting. These boogie boards would enable my kids to write/build words efficiently. Providing small group writing opportunities using technology will help my students establish better literacy skills. My students will attain better writing skills through using technology.
Through the use of these boogie boards, I would be meeting the various needs of students.
These donations would provide small group technological writing opportunities that will help my students establish better literacy skills through an organized and less messy setting. Overall, these donations for boogie boards will assist us in developing a more successful small group learning setting using technology.
