This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are brilliant, highly motivated, energetic, loving and diverse. For eighty percent of our students, English is their second language, and we also have students with behavior issues and others with challenging home lives. Nearly all students are from low-income households and receive free lunch.

The children love to read and use reading to both learn and to explore the world.

Reading is a gateway to knowledge and gives children the opportunity to take an adventure outside of what they are used to. The students are excited to come to the library and check out books.

My Project

This school year Pre-K students are coming to the and have a in library class experience. However these little explores are not able to check out until Kindergarten, so why not give them a free book to keep to start their own libraries or add. Pre-K students enjoy coming to the library for storytime and exploring the books on the shelves. Early literacy is very important to help build students word count and language skills. Books help provide hand and eye coordination for young scholars. Giving a book to a child is one of the best gift one can have.
