My Students

It's time for me to spark the interest of the future doctors, nurses, and biomedical engineers who are sitting in my classroom today. You can help me do this!

My 4th graders are the best kids on the planet!

They have many challenges, such as poverty and geographic isolation, but they love hands-on learning and they soak up material like a sponge if it is presented the right way. All 4th graders have ambitions and dreams, and mine are no exception. Some of them dream of being medical professionals, and I consider it my job to nurture their dreams by teaching them in a way that excites their interest, such as using hands-on materials, instead of handing them a boring black and white worksheet to fill out.

My Project

The human body kits I am requesting are packed with hands-on activities, materials for the activities, and a detailed teacher's guide. I am asking for 5 kits, which will allow me to divide my kiddos into groups for collaborative learning. My students will use model lungs, skeletons, and hearts. They will learn about respiration, the digestive system, reflexes, and their heart rate.

My job is difficult, but rewarding.

The rewarding moments come when real learning happens, and, instead of memorizing a few facts, my students are actually inspired to learn more and pursue a dream. Hands-on learning is the best way to accomplish this. You can help them out of poverty and into their dreams by helping me provide real learning experiences that spark inspiration.
