This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students know how to play video games. But, most of my students are English language learners and do not know how to play classic board games. I would like to give my students an opportunity to learn how to play several classic board games. Playing board games is a simple way for children to get quality, screen-free time with friends. There are several benefits of playing board games. Board games build communication skills and help children with special needs. Board games also teach children how to follow instructions and learn to fail. They create healthy competition. These are just a few benefits of playing board games. I would like to give my students an opportunity to strengthen these skills and enjoy learning at the same time.
